School Lunch update – 19th January

A Melrose Learning Trust School

FAO: Parents of children who have School Lunch

Dear parents, Taylor Shaw have informed us this morning that our school cook has tested positive for COVID and therefore, in line with guidance, will be absent from school until Tuesday 25th January at the earliest.  Taylor Shaw have confirmed to me that at this moment in time, that they do not have any available staff to cover this absence. Consequently, packed lunches will be provided until the school cook returns, or Taylor Shaw send a replacement cook (they have assured me that they are trying their upmost to provide this). As mentioned yesterday, if your child usually has a school lunch, they can either have a school packed lunch at a cost of £2.15 per day for our KS2 children and free of charge for our KS1 children under the Universal Free School Meal scheme, or you can supply a packed lunch from home until this situation is resolved. Once again I would like to reiterate that I am far from happy with this situation and have expressed this to Taylor Shaw. A further update will be provided on Monday or earlier if a replacement cook is sent in the coming days. Kind regards Mr Appleby
