On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I’d like to welcome you to Easington Church of England Primary School website.
We are a school which believes in the value of every child and adult who enters our school. As such we want all those who become part of our school community, whether a child or an adult, to feel valued, happy, respected and to recognise their role in continuing to make our school the best we can make it.
We value the broad and balanced curriculum which our school offers and all children are able to access not only academic, but creative and physical areas of the National Curriculum fully, so that they receive the highest standard of education.
If the information you require is not shown on these pages, please contact the school and we will do our best to help.
Mr John Appleby
Head Teacher
We strive to strengthen our relationships with others as part of God's family. We are a place of distinctive excellence where all are valued as individuals. We achieve this by involving our children in a lively and relevant curriculum.
Just a friendly reminder that the closing date to apply for a primary school place for September 2026 is midnight on Thursday 15 January 2026.
Any prospective parents with last-minute queries or wanting to look around are more than welcome to call the school and/or pop in for a chat with ...Mr Appleby.
Many thanks
Unfortunately there has been a power cut in school and we have no electricity. We have no choice but to postpone the Choir Concert that was planned for 4:30pm. We will try out best to rearrange the event for later in the week.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Thank you.
What a truly magical afternoon! ✨
A huge thank you to @evpc_seatonholme for hosting today’s beautiful tree-lighting celebration! 🎄
Our school choir shone so brightly, supported wonderfully by the incredible @easingtoncb 🎶🎺
Such a special way to welcome the ...festive season—with our whole community together with hot drinks and sweet treats from @the_northern_bistro … and a VERY special visitor too! 🎅🏼💫
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” 🎶✨
So proud of our school choir, who started their busy week by sharing Christmas songs with the residents and staff at the local care home — and the smiles said it all.
Voices united, hearts ...connected ❤️🎶
Tiny boots, rosy cheeks, and huge smiles! 🥾🧣❄️
Snow days = pure winter magic. ⛄️✨
Remembrance Day Service 🌺
Finally, a huge thank you to @evpc_seatonholme for inviting us to join them for their Armistice Day Service.
It was truly heartwarming to see so many members of our community come together to remember and reflect on the bravery and sacrifices of those ...who served.
As always, our children observed the two minutes’ silence impeccably — we could not be more proud!❤️

Remembrance Day - Part Two 🌺✨
Our KS2 children took part in a fascinating, in-depth study of the War in County Durham.
Pupils explored real stories of brave men and women from our local area who served their country — using original archives and historical objects to ...uncover the past.
Our Year 3/4 children learned all about a courageous princess spy named Noor Inayat Khan, while our Year 4/5 children were thrilled to discover that we have our very own air raid shelters right here in the school grounds!
Year 6 took time to reflect on their recent trip to The Heugh Battery in Hartlepool — the only First World War battlefield in the UK.
What an inspiring way to remember, reflect, and learn. ❤️🌺

Remembrance Day - Part One ❤️🌺
Our EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 classes were lucky enough to welcome the lovely Emily from The Story Durham into school for a special Remembrance workshop.
We learned all about Dennis Donnini — a brave soldier from Easington and the youngest ...person to be awarded the Victoria Cross during World War II.
The children explored different historical sources and even had the chance to handle some fascinating artefacts!
We rounded off the day with some beautiful, Poppy-inspired artwork to help us remember and reflect. 🌺✨

💥 Remember, remember the 5th of November… 💥
This week, Year 2 met Guy Fawkes and discovered the story behind the Gunpowder Plot. From handling artefacts to interviewing the infamous plotter, the children brought history to life! 🎇
Meanwhile our Year 1 children have been... learning all about sparkler safety! 🎆
If you are going to a fireworks show or doing sparklers in the garden, please stay safe and remember to follow the Firework Code. ✨
