Key Stage Two Performance Data

Our performance data can be viewed on this page, as well as on the Department for Education website.

At the end of Key Stage 2, children sit a test in Reading, GPS (Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling) and Maths. Children are assessed by their class teacher in Writing.

Children in Year 6 took part in the end of Key Stage 2 testing and assessment arrangements.  Pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the curriculum was assessed.  This curriculum provides greater challenge with higher expectations set for the end of KS2.

The results of the SATs (tests) are reported using a scaled score, where a score of 100 represents the expected standard.  The highest possible score is 120 and the lowest is 80.

Children are awarded one of the following assessment judgements:

AT STANDARD:

If a child has been assessed as being At Standard, this means that the child has met all of the learning objectives within the National Curriculum for their year group. The child can complete work independently and have a wealth of evidence to support the At Standard criteria. If a child is assessed as being At Standard, they are ready to progress onto the next year’s National Curriculum objectives.

HIGHER STANDARD:

If a child has been assessed as being Higher Standard, this means the child has ‘mastered’ the learning objectives from the National Curriculum in their year group and subsequently have a depth of knowledge to draw upon in all areas of the curriculum. Children can independently apply their skills in a range of different ways and across different subjects. Children consistently access high-level problem solving, perform consistently highly in assessments throughout the year and have a wealth of evidence in their class exercise books to support the Higher Standard criteria.

WORKING TOWARDS STANDARD:

If a child has been assessed as Working Towards Standard, this means there was not enough evidence from the criteria above to support the At Standard judgement.

Key Stage One Performance Data

This is the first year of the new testing and assessment arrangements for Year 2.  These arrangements reflect the more challenging national curriculum which was introduced in 2014.  Therefore, results cannot be compared with previous years.  For more information please see the leaflet Information for parents from the Standards and Testing Agency.

At the end of KS1 (Yr2), teachers are required to assess each child in the areas of reading, writing and maths.  National Curriculum assessment tests are used to support teachers’ judgements.

Easington C of E’s performance was above the national average in every subject at the expected standard. In Writing and Maths we were above the National Average for children achieving greater depth.

Year One Phonic Screening results 2022-2023 (cohort of 17 children -each child represents 6%)

93% of pupils in Year One attained the expected standard in the Phonic Screening test. National average this year was 79%

68% of pupils in Year One attained the expected standard in the Phonic Screening test.

Early Years Foundation Stage Performance Data

EYFS results 2022-2023

61% of pupils in EYFS attained a Good Level of Development against the Early Years framework.

80% of pupils in EYFS attained a Good Level of Development against the Early Years framework.

EYFS results 2018-2019

81% of pupils in EYFS attained a Good Level of Development against the Early Years framework.

Children are defined as having a Good Level of Development (GLD) at the end of EYFS if they have achieved at least the expected level for the Early Learning Goals in the prime areas of learning and the specific areas of Mathematics and Literacy.  This helps teachers and parents to understand broadly what a child can do in relation to national expectations.

SIAMS Report

All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the National Society’s framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS). SIAMS inspection focuses on the effect that the Christian ethos of the church school has on the children and young people who attend it. The National Society’s Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) framework is used in all Section 48 inspections of Church of England schools and in the denominational inspection of academies.
