FAO: Parents of children who have School Lunch

Dear parents, Unfortunately, we have taken a phone call this morning from Taylor Shaw (our school lunch provider) to inform us that our cook is unwell and will not be in school today. They went on to explain that currently they have no available staff to cover this absence in our school. Because of this, there will be no hot school lunch provided today. Taylor Shaw will be delivering packed lunches for all of our children who have chosen to have a school dinner. At this point, we are unsure if this absence will continue for the rest of this week. Therefore, you have the choice to send a packed lunch from home for your child if they would prefer this. We will inform all parents on the morning of the day when the cook returns to school. For today, as a gesture of goodwill, no child will be charged for a school lunch and school will cover the cost from School Funds. If your child is happy with a school packed lunch, you will be charged £2.15 daily from Wednesday onwards. We realise that this is far from an ideal situation, and as a school we are frustrated and disappointed that this is the alternative we have been offered, but unfortunately the situation is out of our hands. Many thanks for your understanding. Mr Appleby
