Year 4 Spelling week commencing 5th October 2020

Please learn the following spellings for the test on Friday 9th October.

This week’s spelling list will focus on words which have been spelled incorrectly in the children’s writing since the beginning of term.  These words all focus on the correct use of the verb ending ‘ed’, which the children need to use accurately to write in the past tense.  A common misconception that has been noted is simply adding a ‘t’ onto the end of verbs to convert them to the past tense.  Please could I request that you make the best effort to ensure that your children learn these spellings but also please emphasise the importance of spelling as it is something which can affect the overall quality of a piece of writing.  The spelling rule will be practised and reinforce over the course of the week in preparation for the test.
