An OUTSTANDING Church School May 2017

A Melrose Learning Trust School
I am absolutely delighted to be able to share the outcome of our recent SIAMs inspection (5th May 2017). I am overjoyed to announce that Easington Church of England Primary School has been rated as Outstanding in every area as a result of this inspection (an improvement on the previous Good SIAMs rating in April 2012): • The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners • The impact of collective worship on the school community is outstanding • The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a church school is outstanding Mr Tait, our inspector, spoke with children, parents, staff and governors; shared in an act of worship; spent time in classrooms during Family Friday and outside with our children at lunchtime and examined our extensive evidence which supported our self evaluation. Mr Tait particularly praised our children on their “excellent” behaviour and after speaking with them about our school commented that our children are “amazing” – a credit to parents and families. The report reflects the huge amount of work that has taken place in the last five years to move the school forwards. The improvements that have taken place have only happened because of the support of parents, the support and drive of our Governing Body, the hard work of the children and the dedication and expertise of the staff. I am pleased that all the comments in the report pertaining to further improvement opportunities relate to areas that have already been recognised by our Leadership Team. I am incredibly proud of and overwhelmed by the outcome of this inspection. This report confirms and celebrates the fabulous work that is going on in our school every day and builds on the ‘Good’ OfSTED grading we received in July 2015. Thank you all – staff, governors, parents, family members and our amazing children – for your continued support: you help make Easington CofE the unique and special place it undoubtedly is. Together, with God’s help, we can ensure that we build upon this wonderful success.
