World Book Day – 4th March 2021

World Book Day - 4th March 2021

World Book Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. This year, the day will be a bit different as most children are staying at home, but there are still plenty of ways to get involved in the fun!

You might want to get dressed up as your favourite character and sent a picture to your teacher on Class Dojo (our Key Worker children can come into school on the day dressed up).  Or, you could get creative and make your favourite character – why not transform a potato or wooden spoon into your favourite book character?

This year to celebrate books and stories we know and love, the staff at Easington C of E Primary School will become The Masked Readers - each member of staff will be disguising themselves by wearing a virtual mask and reading an extract from ‘The Gruffalo’ by Julia Donaldson. Your challenge is to correctly identify who each reader is. Videos will be posted on Class Dojo for you and your children to watch. You might want to leave your guesses as comments on Class Story!

We hope you will join in with us celebrating World Book Day and we look forward to your guesses!

Kind regards, Miss Defty
