Sport

A Melrose Learning Trust School

At Easington C of E Primary School, we are passionate about providing our children with a wide range of sporting opportunities and experiences, both on a competitive and non-competitive basis. Despite being a small school, we have a big heart and we pride ourselves on competing and taking part in all that is offered to us.  Our children value the sporting opportunities offered to them and see these as an integral part if school life.  Swimming lessons are also provided by the school to ensure as many children leave Key Stage 2 meeting the minimum statutory requirements of the National Curriculum (see Swimphony).  In order to achieve this offer, Go Well and Easington School Sport Partnership are utilised to support the delivery of a high-quality P.E curriculum in which staff are developed and children experience a wide range of activities.  Examples include:

  • Two hours of quality P.E. lessons per week – dance, gymnastics, tag-rugby etc
  • A range of sporting festivals – gymnastics, dance, cricket, athletics, swimming.
  • A range of sporting competitions – swimming, football, netball, cross-country, tag-rugby, tennis, cricket.
  • Boys football team
  • Girls football team
  • Netball Team (County Champions 2022-23)
