Parental Involvement

A Melrose Learning Trust School

At Easington C of E Primary School, we pride ourselves on our relationship with parents and families. These positive relationships are nurtured from the moment that families choose our school for their child’s educational journey, starting with an incredibly strong transition program. This then allows parents
and carers to feel an important part of the Easington school family. In line with our own values and ethos, parents have high expectations of what their children can achieve and will do all they can to support the school in achieving this.

Below are some examples of the difference ways parents are involved in our school throughout the year:

Family Friday
Family Friday is a school wide event that happens on the first Friday of every month. This is where families are invited in to school to participate in carefully selected activities based around a theme, such as Black History Month, Remembrance, Online Safety, Hopes and Dreams and Reading for Pleasure.

Celebration and Collective Worships and Church Visits
Parents are invited into school and St. Mary’s church to be a part of worship where they can observe their children having achievements celebrating from both in and out of school.

Guest Readers
Parents and carers are invited into school to become ‘Guest Readers’. Each volunteer is allocated to a year group and will spend time with that class sharing a piece of literature.

Someone Special Lunch
This is a special event where parents and carers are invited into school by their children to share a meal and spend time afterwards playing games and activities in the school yard.
