Heatwave

A Melrose Learning Trust School
HEATWAVE ☀️ The Met Office have issued amber weather warnings for Monday and Tuesday for extreme heat, as temperatures are forecast to reach over 30 degrees. Please dress your children in light coloured, loose clothing to help keep them cool. Please also ensure they have sun hats and that high UVA protection suncream is applied before they leave for school.
Steps we will be taking at school include: - Keeping children indoors during peak hours. - Ice lollies available. - Ensuring children remain hydrated with plenty of fluids. Young children cannot control their body temperature as efficiently as adults during hot weather because they do not sweat as much therefore, they can be at risk of ill-health from heat. We will monitor the situation and, as always, keep a close eye on the children. We may ask you to come and collect your child if they develop signs of heat-stoke of heat stress. Many thanks for your support and understanding with this.
