Dear parents/carers,
Following teacher’s communications with you and your children on Wednesday 3rd June, the feedback from both parents and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. Teachers all spoke to me last night and expressed how much they had enjoyed the conversations with the children and finding out the amazing things they had been up to during these unprecedented times.
To develop our communication with children further, we have decided to register for ‘
Class dojo’. This is an online tool that children can use to communicate with their class teacher including messaging, uploading photographs and activities etc. The app will also be used to provide feedback to your child regarding work they have completed. Myself and Mr. Churchill are in the process of setting this up for school and it should be up and running by the end of next week (Friday 12.6.20). The phone calls to children will become a fortnightly occurrence as the app will allow for children to communicate with their class teacher more frequently (a bonus for those children who are not confident speaking on the phone). The frequency of the phone calls will be closely monitored by the senior leadership team.
A full update, including detailed guidance on how to use the app, will follow next week. In order for the app to work successfully, school requires an up to date email address. Therefore, Mrs. Bowden-Stoker will be in touch shortly to confirm your email address.
We are extremely appreciative of the efforts you have gone to to home school your children in these uncertain times.
As always, I hope that this communication finds you all safe and well. Please continue to stay safe.
Kindest regards,
Mr. Appleby and staff
